Armed Security Officer – First Shift (Access Control) at SecurityRI.com – North Providence, Rhode Island

We are seeking a professional Armed Security Officer for a first-shift assignment at a public-facing, controlled-access facility in Cranston, RI.

This role focuses on access control and visitor screening in a high-visibility environment.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong professionalism, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage public interactions calmly and effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

Armed access control at a controlled entry point

Screening and verifying visitors prior to granting access

Maintaining a visible and professional security presence

Enforcing site security procedures and protocols

Monitoring foot traffic and responding to incidents as needed

Completing accurate activity and incident reports

Coordinating with site leadership and law enforcement when required

Compensation:

• Above national armed security average
• Highly competitive hourly rate based on experience and credentials

• Valid Rhode Island armed security license
• Valid permit to carry
• Prior armed security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to operate professionally in a public-facing environment
• Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
• Ability to pass national and state background checks
• Ability to pass drug testing
• Ability to meet all client-specific clearance requirements
