UNIT SUMMARY:

The PCU at Northwest Hospital provides specialized care centered on the whole person with a focus on cardiac diagnoses. PCU staff members are outgoing, positive, and open to the challenge of developing strong organizational and critical thinking skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms towards improving outcomes.

JOB SUMMARY: Functions under the supervision of the RN in a cooperative effort with the health care team to assist in providing a variety of patient care related duties. Maintains the standards of nursing care for all patients and implements the policies and procedures of the unit, Hospital and Nursing Department.

REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent; 1-3 years of experience; Basic computer skills; Synquest; Medical terminology; Hoyer lift; Communication devices; Specialty beds; Automatic B/P cuff; GNA / CNA Licensure; CPR card from AHA.
