About This Position

SUMMARY:

The Family Support Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and strategic coordination for family-

centered services within the LAUNCH project, ensuring high-quality, integrated care for families

with children up to 8 years old. This position supervises the Family Support Specialist and

coordinates program development, compliance oversight, outreach, and community partnerships.

The Family Support Supervisor works closely with the Director of Children and Family Services to

strengthen service delivery systems, enhance early childhood behavioral health supports, and

ensure families receive comprehensive, culturally responsive care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Family Support Supervisor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Program Leadership & Oversight

• Provide daily supervision, guidance, and performance management for Family Support

Specialist(s), including regular case reviews, coaching, and support with complex or high-

acuity situations.

• Ensure program operations align with the agency’s mission, LAUNCH project goals,

evidence-based practices, and state/federal regulations.

• Develop, implement, and regularly update program protocols, workflow processes, and

quality standards for screenings, admissions, case management, service coordination, and

aftercare planning.

• Monitor program data, documentation quality, and service outcomes; prepare reports for

internal leadership, funders, and stakeholders.

• Lead efforts to expand prevention and early screening initiatives within the community,

ensuring families access needed supports as early as possible.

Outreach, Partnerships & Community Coordination

• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, early childhood programs (including Early

Head Start), healthcare systems, behavioral health providers, child welfare agencies, and

other community-based organizations.

• Represent the agency at community meetings, coalitions, interagency workgroups, and

early childhood behavioral health networks.

• Conduct outreach to increase awareness of the LAUNCH project, promote early childhood

behavioral health resources, and strengthen referral pathways.

• Identify gaps in community services or systemic barriers and collaborate with stakeholders

to develop coordinated solutions.

• Establish and maintain agreements, referral processes, and communication protocols to

ensure seamless service integration for families.

Family Services Coordination & Support

• Provide consultation and guidance on complex family cases, including crisis situations,

safety planning needs, and multi-system involvement.

• Support the Family Support Specialist in developing individualized care plans, ensuring

appropriate service matching and family-centered approaches.

• Assist with escalated service coordination tasks, including collaboration with providers on

behavioral health, medical, educational, and social service referrals.

• Ensure families receive trauma-informed, culturally responsive, developmentally

appropriate care throughout the continuum of services.

• Oversee and support aftercare planning processes to reduce recidivism and promote long-

term stability for families.

Training, Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Provide or coordinate training for staff on early childhood development, behavioral health,

cultural humility, trauma-informed care, documentation standards, and community

resource navigation.

• Conduct regular audits of case records, care plans, progress notes, and referral

documentation to ensure compliance with agency policies, HIPAA, and applicable laws.

• Track and respond to critical incidents, complaints, or concerns, implementing corrective

action when necessary.

• Monitor program trends and emerging best practices to enhance service quality and

efficiency.

Administrative & Other Duties

• Support the Director of Children and Family Services with program planning, grant

reporting, and evaluation activities.

• Assist in developing outreach materials, presentations, and communication strategies to

promote program visibility.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Children and Family Services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.

2. Strong understanding of cultural diversity and its impact on service delivery.

3. Advanced knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

4. Experience and knowledge of behavioral health, particularly in early childhood development and family dynamics.

5. Proficient use of standard office equipment and systems, including Microsoft Office Word and Outlook.

6. Ability to build rapport with clients and maintain effective professional relationships within the organization.

7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and organize workload efficiently.

8. Familiarity with community resources, including mental health, social services, financial assistance, education, housing, employment, and childcare support.

9. Proficiency in Spanish a plus

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred.

2. Minimum of one year of experience in addiction treatment counseling, case management, or a related role, preferably working with children and families.

3. Case Management certification (ACM, CCM, RN-BC, CPSW) required.

4. Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to become certified).

5. Unrestricted NM Driver’s License required.
