Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School (CRIPCS) is an adult charter school that delivers high-quality education, career training, and supportive services that enable adult immigrants to realize their dreams while strengthening our community and economy. When you join the team at CRIPCS you become part of a unique, performance-driven organization where students are the center of our work and excellence permeates.Integrity Respect Perseverance Compassion Inclusivity Collaboration Substitute Serving under the general supervision of the principal and academic leadership team, the substitute will report to the designated campus daily (Monday through Wednesday) to work [specify AM or EVE] sessions in person and Thurdsay through Friday Virtually to ensure coverage for classes is consistent. There are two openings for both the Harvard Street Campus and the Sonia Gutierrez Campus. Each campus has a AM and EVE based position.
Responsibilities:Implement lesson plans provided by the instructorTake attendanceLeave notes regarding student performance/participation from the day’s lesson as well as any challenges encountered while covering the classFulfill other duties as assigned when coverage is not neededAdhere to safety protocols and proceduresAdhere to campus protocols and procedures as it relates to events such as assemblies, class breaks, session times, etc
Qualifications:
Associate’s degreeExperience teaching Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English and preferably a second needed language in writing and speaking with all school stakeholders; Ability to create a safe and compassionate learning environment through leading excellence in teaching and learning;Effective mediation skills with sensitivity to cross-cultural issues to resolve conflicts;Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilitiesMust be able to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinationDeep commitment to CRIPCS's core values and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.To ensure that you understand the school’s commitment to our work and the expectations of all school community members in advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging work.
