Job Description:
Fibertek is seeking a hands-on Director of IT & Business Systems to lead the evolution, security, and scalability of Fibertek’s IT infrastructure and enterprise systems. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends execution with enterprise-level thinking. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in the details and personally driving implementation, while also partnering closely with executive leadership on priorities and direction.
This role is accountable for executing Fibertek’s IT and business systems initiatives across infrastructure, collaboration platforms, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and other enterprise tools, security, compliance, and systems integration. The span of control includes a small internal team, a third-party managed IT provider, and both on-premise and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate is a motivated mid-career professional (approximately 10–15 years of experience) who is ready to expand their scope and influence. As Fibertek continues to scale, this role is expected to grow in responsibility and strategic impact.
Essential Job Duties:
Business Enablement & Strategy
- Partner with executive leadership to translate business strategy into actionable IT and business systems initiatives
- Develop and execute a multi-year IT and systems roadmap/plan of record aligned with Fibertek’s 2030 strategic plan
- Own enterprise systems architecture and integration strategy (ERP, Deltek suite, collaboration platforms, compliance systems, and related tools)
- Serve as a thought partner to leaders on how technology can improve efficiency, execution, collaboration, and decision-making
- Manage lifecycle and governance of all software and hardware assets in collaboration with tool owners
Modern Collaboration & Productivity
- Own, configure, and optimize collaboration and productivity platforms (e.g., M365, SharePoint, Teams, workflow tools) to include user training and monitoring utilization.
- Improve cross-functional information sharing, document management, and knowledge management
- Reduce friction, manual workarounds, and duplication through automation and system integration
- Drive configuration, rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives
AI & Automation
- Evaluate AI and automation opportunities to improve engineering workflows, proposal generation, document management, and reporting
- Establish governance and guardrails for responsible, secure AI adoption
- Educate leaders and teams on practical, real-world AI applications
Systems, Data & Integration
- Improve data visibility, reporting, and decision-support for leadership
- Reduce tool sprawl and improve interoperability across systems
- Take a hands-on role in system configuration, integration, and data quality
IT Operations, Security & Compliance
- Lead a small IT team, setting priorities while remaining actively involved in execution
- Manage third-party managed IT provider, assessors, and software vendors
- Maintain strong cybersecurity and compliance posture aligned with government contracting and CMMC requirements
- Establish and maintain scalable IT policies, standards, and operating processes
Job Requirements:
Experience and Expertise Required:
- 10–20 years of progressive experience in IT, business systems, or technology leadership roles
- Background operating within a government contracting environment (DoD and/or classified programs)
- Direct accountability for maintaining cybersecurity posture in regulated environments (CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
- Ownership of enterprise IT environments (250+ users) spanning hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructure
- Track record leading major enterprise system implementations or upgrades (ERP, collaboration platforms, cybersecurity stack, etc.)
- Leadership of third-party managed service providers (MSPs) with defined SLAs and performance metrics
- Responsibility for IT budget planning, cost control, and vendor contract negotiation
- Development and execution of multi-year IT roadmaps aligned with business strategy
- Experience operating within Microsoft GCC High M365 environments (certifications preferred)
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience with AI, automation, and data tools in a business context
- Experience with Deltek suite or comparable GovCon ERP platforms
- Certifications relevant to cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise systems
