Fall 2026 Account Management & Proposals Intern/Co-Op
(Business Development / Contracts & Proposals)

We are seeking enthusiastic students to join our Fall 2026 engineering internship/co-op program. Interns will have the opportunity to experience a comprehensive learning experience, combining hands-on work, mentorship, and professional development. Interns will apply their knowledge and grow their skills while working closely with Marotta team members to complete a project with the unique opportunity to present their project and internship experience to senior leadership. Interns also have the opportunity to network with other interns and employees through optional engagement and voluntary events.
Overview
Marotta Controls is seeking a highly motivated Customer Account & Proposals Management Intern to support the full business lifecycle—from proposal development through contract execution and sales order processing. This internship provides hands-on experience in the aerospace and defense industry and exposure to cross-functional operations including Business Development, Contracts, Program Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering.

The intern will assist with coordinating proposal activities, maintaining data accuracy in business systems, supporting customer order processing, and improving internal processes and tracking tools.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in government contracting, business operations, project coordination, or aerospace and defense.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal & Capture Support
- Assist in organizing proposal activities from RFx receipt through submission.
- Support development of compliance matrices, proposal outlines, and tracking schedules.
- Help assemble proposal packages and verify document completeness.
- Maintain proposal status and pipeline tracking in Salesforce.
- Support creation of PowerPoint presentations and internal/external deliverables.
- Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Contract & Customer Order Support
- Assist with review of customer purchase orders for data accuracy and completeness.
- Support preparation and organization of contract documentation.
- Help track funding, delivery schedules, and contractual milestones.
- Assist with sales order data validation in ERP systems.
- Support resolution of order discrepancies through research and coordination.
Data, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Maintain and update trackers for proposals, contracts, and orders.
- Help develop dashboards and metrics for on-time submissions and order accuracy.
- Perform data analysis for quoting trends, backlog, and pipeline reporting.
- Document standard work instructions and process workflows.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect required inputs for proposals and orders.
- Support scheduling of meetings, reviews, and approvals.
- Prepare summary briefs and status updates for the team.
Learning Objectives
- Exposure to FAR/DFAR-based government contracting
- Understanding of the proposal lifecycle
- Experience with Salesforce and ERP systems (Epicor or similar)
- Cross-functional project coordination skills
- Data analysis and business operations experience in a manufacturing environment
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Management, Engineering Management, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in aerospace & defense industry
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or project coordination
- Familiarity with CRM or ERP systems (Salesforce, Epicor) a plus
Work Environment
- Business office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing operations
- Collaborative, cross-functional team setting
Position location: Parsippany, NJ
Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hour
