Position Summary
The BCBA is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously monitoring behavior intervention plans for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. The ideal candidate must have a strong foundation in ABA and a passion for improving client lives through evidence-based practice and collaborative family support.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation
Conduct comprehensive functional assessments to pinpoint behavior issues and underlying causes.
Formulate highly individualized treatment plans and personalized ABA programs for the home and community.
Implementation and Monitoring
Oversee the implementation of programs, providing on-site supervision as necessary for efficient treatment progress.
Review session notes and data recorded by Behavior Technicians (BTs) to monitor both client progress and staff proficiency.
Make necessary data-driven adjustments to intervention strategies to ensure optimal outcomes.
Training and Collaboration
Deliver impactful parent training and cultivate positive, professional working relationships with families.
Facilitate team meetings and collaborate with parents, staff, and other professionals for a holistic approach to care.
Promptly address guardian inquiries with the highest level of professionalism.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field.
Certification: Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required.
Licensure: Must possess the appropriate state license for Virginia (LBA).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a BCBA is required.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (preferred) and a strong understanding of data-driven intervention.
Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home-based visits.
