We are pleased to announce the opening for a PNT Senior-Level Engineer, who will join our Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Team in-person in our Huntsville, Alabama office and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be the technical and programmatic lead over a team known for accelerating the development of PNT technologies through simulation and testing.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be the on-site lead for the United States Space Force’s PNT Innovation Center (PIC) in Huntsville, AL, which aims to accelerate the development and maturation of PNT technologies for the Space Force and other DoD stakeholders.
  • You will have primary oversight and responsibility for all aspects of the Innovation Center including marketing and business development related to the PIC; procurement, maintenance and advancement of test infrastructure; design and execution of test campaigns; coordination with a variety of stakeholders from government, industry, and academia; management of the PIC’s finances and operations schedule; and recruitment and team building.
  • You will identify and recommend new capabilities for the Innovation Center to pursue in promising research areas to accomplish the customer’s goals. You will plan and direct the procurement, maintenance, and cyber hardening of laboratory equipment and infrastructure as needed to meet the customer’s current and future goals.
  • You will plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating and reviewing the efforts of the technical team in the performance of assigned projects. You will conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity, recommend corrections in technical applications and analyses, evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services, and provide technical consultation to leadership.
  • You will coordinate with stakeholders including government partners and customers, subcontractors, equipment manufacturers, PNT solution providers and more on all aspects of the PIC.
  • You will interface with nou Systems, contractor teammates, and government leadership, including providing regular updates on the schedule and budget status of the Innovation Center’s efforts.
  • You will conduct business development for nou Systems and the Innovation Center in the PNT domain including PNT technology idea generation and the writing of proposals in pursuit of new PNT-related work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • You will need 5 years of full-time professional experience in a STEM field.
  • You must possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an engineering field.
  • 10 years of professional experience in a STEM field.
  • Proven experience leading teams in performing test, evaluation, simulation, and analysis activities related to RF or PNT systems.
  • Experience in the management of technical and programmatic aspects of a lab environment
  • Experience designing and performing test and evaluation with PNT technologies.
  • Experience performing engineering test and analysis with Python tools.
  • Experience with RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers and software defined radios.
  • Experience implementing software interfaces to hardware to enable communication and automation of test equipment.
  • Experience designing and conducting experiments using radio frequency devices and instrumentation.
  • Experience with creating custom I/Q waveform files and analyzing recorded I/Q waveform files.
  • Familiarity with DoD cyber security accreditation processes (RMF, CMMC).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
