About This Position

Description:

To meet or surpass the expectations of every guest by providing a friendly, safe and entertaining experience while completing accurate and efficient sales transactions along with increasing revenue opportunities through up-selling techniques.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance with guests and team members.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.
  • Process ticket sales and handle cash accurately and efficiently.
  • Use effective upselling techniques to promote ticket options and packages.
  • Provide information about the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Seattle attractions, and surrounding area.
  • Maintain security and organization within the Admissions Office.
  • Communicate with Elevator Operators to assist guests and estimate wait times.
  • Stay informed on group reservations, special needs, and SkyLine functions.
  • Support team training and assist guests both inside and outside the Admissions Office.
  • Monitor, suggest, and restock supplies as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of our Ticketing System and related software.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote and support the sale of new ticket types and product bundles.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Utilize information from Admissions Office communication binders and emails to stay informed.
  • Provide knowledgeable information about all areas of the Space Needle.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Space Needle policies and procedures.
  • Follow all emergency, fire, and safety procedures as well as helping reassure guests during emergencies.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Follow and support proper lost and found procedures.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to work special events, full-time hours, and 2 of 3 weekend days (Fri/Sat/Sun).
  • Strong guest service skills with a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Proven upselling abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use manual dexterity throughout the shift, work in confined spaces, and be comfortable with heights.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated initiative, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of Seattle and the surrounding area preferred.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable interacting with diverse populations.
  • General computer literacy and confidence using mobile devices.

Full Time, Seasonal, Hourly Position

Starting Rate: $21.30 - 21.30 / hour

Eligible for a performance-based increase after a successful 90-day review.
