Job Description
Yanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.
OVERVIEW:
The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the planning, designing, implementing and managing of integrated production systems that ensure the highest level of safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance of our processes and products in the compact equipment industry.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning processes with health and safety policies and regulations.
· Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation and instructions.
· Develop, design and maintain manufacturing tooling and equipment.
· Analyze labor and equipment utilization, facility layout, processes, and operational data such as production costs, process flow, and production schedules to identify cost reductions and improve utilization of space and equipment.
· Identify new manufacturing technologies and ideas to improve manufacturing processes.
· Perform detailed and accurate research, justification, and recommendation for capital expenditures and new equipment.
· Prepare time, cost and resource estimates for proposed projects and coordinate layout and workstation improvement activities.
· Provide leadership and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects across multiple departments.
· Work with operations leadership to continuously improve safety and quality, and to identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase throughput.
· Work with operations leadership to foresee and establish future investment and labor needs according to company plans.
· Review and analyze new and existing product designs regarding process, tooling, labor and cost impacts. Make recommendations to improve manufacturability, improve quality, and to reduce costs.
· May perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university.
· One (1) year of related engineering experience.
· Proficient with computers including MS Office and CAD.
· Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Three (3) years of Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering or Quality Engineering experience.
· Experience with industrial manufacturing methods such as laser cutting, forming, machining, welding, paint processes, and assembly tooling and practices.
· Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen concepts and goals.
· Experience with Creo and Windchill.
· Experience with application of GD&T.

· Strong hands-on mechanical ability.
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Starting Wage: $75K-$90K
This position offers the potential for discretionary bonus compensation up to 10% of base salary.
