This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for clinicians across multiple states. You will manage weekly payroll cycles, handling both manual and electronic timesheets while ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for payroll inquiries, providing clear and professional support to clinicians and internal stakeholders. In addition to processing payroll, you will help identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency. This is a highly collaborative role where accuracy, communication, and accountability directly impact workforce satisfaction and trust.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with labor laws and internal policies while supporting clinicians and internal teams.
- Compile, review, and process weekly manual and electronic timesheets for multi-state payroll
- Audit and verify timekeeping data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payroll rules
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in hours, pay data, and deductions in alignment with policies
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly payroll deadlines through effective planning and prioritization
- Serve as the primary contact for clinicians regarding payroll inquiries via phone, email, and text
- Research and resolve payroll issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive employee payroll data
- Support documentation, reporting, and audit requests as needed
- Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and procedural updates
- Assist and mentor team members by sharing best practices and payroll knowledge
- Perform additional administrative and payroll-related tasks as assigned
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in a high-volume payroll environment.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior payroll experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Smartsheet
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data accuracy skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees and management
- Strong customer service mindset with a focus on timely issue resolution
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Understanding of payroll regulations, tax rules, and wage and hour laws (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgment-based decisions
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Hourly compensation range: $19.23 – $24.04 USD
- Eligibility for overtime pay
