You will work on designing, developing, and enhancing complex applications that support critical claims workflows used by healthcare stakeholders. The position involves deep technical work across UNIX/Linux environments, C programming, SQL, and XML, with a strong focus on system reliability and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and support, to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. The environment is mission-driven, innovation-focused, and centered on improving services for vulnerable populations. This is a fully remote opportunity offering flexibility, growth, and the chance to contribute to meaningful, large-scale public impact systems.

Accountabilities:
  • Analyze customer requirements and product specifications to define technical approaches and development strategies for claims-related systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software components using C, SQL, UNIX/Linux, and XML to support healthcare claims processing workflows.
  • Build, test, and deploy system modifications in accordance with established engineering standards and team guidelines.
  • Develop and execute unit tests to ensure system accuracy, reliability, and performance across applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product requirements and ensure alignment between technical and business needs.
  • Provide input on system design, maintenance, and enhancements while supporting moderately complex engineering projects.
  • Evaluate unique technical scenarios and recommend appropriate solutions based on established policies and procedures.
  • Act as a technical contributor within project teams, offering analysis, insights, and limited direction on assigned workstreams.
Requirements:
  • 9+ years of experience in application design, development, and programming using C, SQL, UNIX/Linux, and XML.
  • Strong background in healthcare IT systems, with hands-on experience in claims processing environments.
  • Proven experience supporting system design, development, maintenance, and modification activities.
  • Experience creating and executing unit test cases for complex software systems.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise application development and troubleshooting in production environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into reliable, scalable solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Comfortable working independently within defined processes while contributing to team objectives.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $115,000, depending on experience and location.
  • Fully remote work opportunity across the United States.
  • Flexible vacation policy supporting work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Educational assistance and tuition support programs.
  • Access to leadership and technical development academies for career growth.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, certifications, and skill enhancement.
