This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced healthcare revenue cycle professional to oversee enterprise-wide coding operations across domestic and global teams. In this role, you will drive coding accuracy, compliance excellence, and operational performance while contributing directly to revenue optimization and denial reduction initiatives. You will collaborate closely with clinical, compliance, and revenue cycle stakeholders to strengthen documentation integrity and improve reimbursement outcomes. - Lead and oversee enterprise coding operations across onshore and offshore teams, ensuring high levels of accuracy, productivity, and compliance.
- Manage coding performance metrics including turnaround times, DNFB reduction, coding quality, and operational efficiency.
- Drive revenue cycle improvement initiatives focused on denial prevention, charge capture optimization, and reimbursement accuracy.
- Develop and maintain coding governance structures, standardized workflows, and operational policies across multiple markets and service lines.
- Oversee coding audits, quality assurance programs, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards.
- Partner with clinical, compliance, and revenue cycle teams to improve documentation integrity and coding effectiveness.
- Utilize analytics and reporting tools to identify operational trends, performance gaps, and process improvement opportunities.
- Support technology implementation, coding automation initiatives, and system optimization projects across coding operations.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for multi-site and global coding teams.
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align coding operations with broader organizational and financial performance goals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in coding operations, healthcare revenue cycle management, or related healthcare finance functions.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing multi-site, remote, or global teams.
- Strong expertise in inpatient, outpatient, and/or professional medical coding practices.
- Deep understanding of coding compliance regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare industry standards.
- Required certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent coding credentials.
- Experience managing offshore or international coding operations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with coding transformation initiatives, automation tools, and technology-driven process improvements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven leadership approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including executive-level interaction and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, performance-driven healthcare services environments.
- Competitive salary range of approximately $115,000 to $135,000 annually.
