Position:
The Electrical Designer is responsible for the design, development, and modification of technical drawings, as well as system design and component selection—for projects assigned by the department manager at our Longmont, CO facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Develop and design schematics for both standard and new machines in a timely manner to meet BluePrint and customer specifications and quality.
- Ensure those designs are in alignment with industry standards and specifications; ensure variances from those standards are acknowledged by stakeholders.
- Perform various required analysis of designs, such as heat load, and SCCR calculations.
- Plans, organizes, and meets project commitments (includes completing schematics and bill of materials).
- Create and modify Parts, Jobs, and BOMs in Kinetics (ERP), setup jobs in CADLink, and perform other department related tasks using Kinetics or other company systems.
- Interacts daily with other members of the design department and provides assistance to assembly workers in the manufacturing department.
- Takes on design improvement duties, such as value engineering, common task automation, component research, staying informed of industry trends, and involvement with cross-departmental R&D efforts.
- Develops professional customer relations both in the office and out in the field.
- Maintains a safe working environment that is within the safety standards.
- Periodic travel up to 25% may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities, Education & Experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience required.
- An associate’s degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
- Knowledge of UL, NEC and NFPA 79 required.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical required.
- Detailed knowledge of electrical components and their function is required.
- Highly developed customer orientation.
