Pay: $86,000-$120,000 annualized
Location: Los Gatos, CA
Schedule: Mon-Friday 8am-5pm

Summary:
The Physician Recruiter serves as a strategic partner to physician leadership, operations, and executive stakeholders, supporting long-term provider workforce planning and growth across El Camino Health Medical Network. This role leads the end-to-end provider recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, market intelligence, sourcing strategy, candidate engagement, interview facilitation, offer development, and onboarding transition.
With a primary focus on Primary Care Physicians, the Provider Recruiter develops proactive recruitment strategies aligned with organizational access goals, service line expansion, and population health initiatives. Beyond traditional recruiting responsibilities, this role leverages labor market insights, provider supply-and-demand trends, and partnership with leadership to build sustainable pipelines of high-quality physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and clinical providers in one of the most competitive healthcare markets in the country.
This role acts as a consultative advisor to leadership on physician workforce trends, recruitment feasibility, and long-range staffing models that support sustainable clinical growth.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Partner with executive leadership, physician leaders, and clinic operations to understand current and future provider workforce needs.
- Develop tailored recruitment strategies for high-priority and hard-to-fill roles, particularly in Primary Care.
- Provide market intelligence on compensation trends, candidate availability, and competitive positioning.
Full-Cycle Provider Recruitment
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for physicians, APPs, and clinical providers, including:
- Sourcing and pipeline development

- Candidate outreach and engagement
- Screening and interviewing
- Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a high-touch, white-glove candidate experience.
- Build long-term relationships with passive candidates for future needs.

Sourcing & Pipeline Development:
- Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, specialty job boards, professional associations, referrals, and networking.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies for competitive specialties and markets.
- Maintain strong talent pipelines for anticipated growth and succession planning.
Stakeholder Partnership:
- Provide coaching on interview best practices, candidate evaluation, and market dynamics.
- Ensure alignment between candidate expectations and organizational culture.
Recruitment Operations & Optimization:
- Manage and optimize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure accurate data, reporting, and compliance.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external search firms and recruitment vendors.
- Optimize advertising strategy and ROI across job boards and recruitment platforms.
- Track key recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, pipeline health, candidate experience).
- Assist with and coordinate recruitment events
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other job-related duties assigned to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of physician/provider recruiting experience within healthcare (medical group, hospital, health system, or search firm).
- Proven success recruiting physicians in competitive markets.
- Strong experience with Leads the end-to-end physician recruitment, including offer negotiation and closing.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience using ATS: Greenhouse
- Experience with recruitment platforms and sourcing tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter).
- AAPPR certification preferred
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority searches simultaneously.
Experience:
- Experience recruiting in Northern California or other highly competitive healthcare markets.
- Familiarity with physician compensation models (productivity, base + incentive, wRVUs, etc.).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with regular travel to Medical Network clinic sites.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional evening or weekend work related to recruiting/department functions
