About This Position

The Practice Administrator for the anesthesia group is responsible for managing all aspects of day-to-day practice operations, clinical coordination, and administrative support to ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant anesthesia services. This role ensures operational efficiency, financial performance, and regulatory compliance and serves as a key liaison between anesthesia providers, hospital leadership, and administrative teams. The Practice Administrator supports Symmetry's commitment to high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered anesthesia care.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day non-clinical operations including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
  • Partner with hospital OR leadership and staff to align schedules, case flow, and resources
  • Collaborate with hospital perioperative leadership to drive OR efficiency and on-time starts.
  • Support new provider onboarding in alignment with Symmetry’s credentialing and integration processes.
  • Serve as the administrative point of contact for clinician issues, team needs, and hospital escalations
  • Support a positive team culture and resolve staff/clinician concerns as needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Symmetry practice growth strategies
  • Manage equipment, supply needs, and facility coordination for anesthesia services.

Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and manage budgets, staffing models, and vendor contracts.
  • Monitor case volumes, clinical quality metrics, and provider productivity
  • Collaborate with finance on payroll inputs, expense tracking, and operational budgets
  • Analyze financial performance and productivity to drive decision-making.
  • Partner with billing and revenue cycle teams to ensure documentation and charge accuracy.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure adherence to all Symmetry, hospital, and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with clinical leaders on quality improvement, safety, and peer review activities.
  • Monitor service-level agreements and deliverable compliance.

People & Communication

  • Act as the primary administrative liaison for Symmetry Anesthesia.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Support provider communication, recognition, and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of healthcare or medical group operations experience (anesthesia preferred)
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of clinical operations, scheduling, credentialing, and compliance
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMRs, and credentialing/scheduling systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, or related field preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with startup or practice integration in anesthesia.
  • Familiarity with anesthesia billing, provider time tracking, and call compensation.
  • Adaptability and professionalism in high-stakes environments.
