Responsibilities
Total Cost Management: Drive cost management discipline being the single largest owner of spend. Direct and implement the global sourcing strategy to lower company costs and minimize company risk that starts with analyzing spend, determining optimal sourcing strategies, establishing competitive bidding, negotiation, and terms and conditions requirements, to achieve desired results. Work with internal key stakeholders and a team of Sourcing Specialists to establish best sourcing solutions at both the local and regional level. Facilitate annual material cost roll and indirect planning processes, as the result of cost reduction activities and close monitoring and tracking of cost increase risks. Lead strategic initiatives related to cost management.
Category Strategy: Drive the implementation of relevant category strategies, to limit risk and optimize supplier & material selection. Cascade information through new product development and sustaining.
Supplier Performance & Risk Management: Identify and lead programs that continually improve supplier performance in regard to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and corporate social responsibility initiatives, including supplier diversity.
Contract Management: Manage contract creation, reviews, renewals and develop strategy for alignment and consistency to drive cost synergies. Drive consistency and optimal utilization of competitive bidding process, negotiations, and terms and conditions requirements to achieve desired results.
Secure Strategic Sourcing: Sourcing of talent through effective recruitment, hiring, retention and development of key personnel with a focus on planning & execution to provide superior delivery to our customers. Provide coaching and feedback to support team members’ development goals and high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications
This role is posted at multiple levels:
Director I:
- 7+ years procurement / sourcing experience.
- 5+ years of experience of managing a team.
- Experience with Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, Supplier Evaluation, Commercial Contract Understanding, Risk Mitigation, Commodity Market.
- Research, Index Pricing or Total Cost Assessments.
- ERP systems.
- Proven track record of driving and adapting to change in a dynamic environment.
- Experience driving and managing strategic projects.
- Experience of stakeholder management at various levels.
- Experience of acting as a coach or mentor.
- Experience as a global leader for all spend, sourcing development, and supplier metrics.
- Accountable for effective employee and team leadership along with demonstrated leadership throughout the entire organization; includes sourcing team development and succession planning.
- Experience with formulating and utilizing methods and system solutions for enhancing operational efficiencies and control over supply.
- Strong collaboration skills cross-functionally to execute cost optimization projects including resourcing suppliers.
- Demonstrated team leadership and project management skills.
- Strong track record of navigating complex and ambiguous environments with intelligent risk taking.
- Desire to innovate and challenge the status quo.
- Technical skills include strong negotiation skills, fluency with contract terms and conditions, conflict resolution, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of effective technology driven-sourcing processes.
- Solid process and project management skills with the ability to manage change and a natural inclination for planning strategy and executing tactically.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities using both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Attention to detail; able to draw conclusions from detail.
Director II:
- 10+ years of procurement / sourcing experience
- 7+ years of experience of managing a team
