  • Beacon & Elementary School Sites: Mondayโ€“Thursday, 12 PM โ€“ 6 PM | Friday, 8 AM โ€“ 6 PM (July 2 โ€“ Aug 15)

  • Middle School Sites: Mondayโ€“Thursday, 12 PM โ€“ 6 PM | Friday, 8 AM โ€“ 6 PM (July 2 โ€“ Aug 8)

  • Forest Hills & Pomonok Community Centers (K-5): Mondayโ€“Friday, 8 AM โ€“ 6 PM (July 2 โ€“ Aug 15)

QCH is seeking creative and skilled Activity Specialists to design and lead engaging activities for elementary and middle school students in our After-School & Summer Programs.

๐Ÿ”น Key Responsibilities๐ŸŽฏ Program Development & Leadership

โœ”๏ธ Create and implement dynamic lesson plans tailored to students' needs.
โœ”๏ธ Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
โœ”๏ธ Lead structured activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.
โœ”๏ธ Assist students with academic enrichment and homework support.

๐Ÿค Collaboration & Communication

โœ”๏ธ Partner with program directors, staff, and families to support student success.
โœ”๏ธ Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders.
โœ”๏ธ Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects and special events.

๐ŸŽ‰ Event & Program Coordination

โœ”๏ธ Plan and facilitate performances, showcases, and community events.
โœ”๏ธ Ensure student safety and supervision at all times.
โœ”๏ธ Participate in staff meetings and professional development to enhance skills.

๐Ÿ“Œ Qualifications โ€“ What Weโ€™re Looking For

โœ”๏ธ Education:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Currently enrolled in a related college program (Education, Human Development, Sociology, Human Services) with at least two years of coursework completed.

โœ”๏ธ Experience & Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience leading youth activities in after-school, summer camp, or community settings.

  • Proven expertise in the specific activity area for which you are applying.

  • Strong group facilitation, conflict resolution, and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and engage youth in leadership and skill-building.

โœ”๏ธ Additional Requirements:

  • Tech-savvy โ€“ Basic computer proficiency & strong communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.

  • Must pass NYS DOH & DOE Fingerprinting, Clearance Review, Background Check, three reference checks, and a physical exam (including an updated TB test).
