About the Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Staff Nurse plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within a healthcare setting. This position involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being. The LPN will be responsible for monitoring patient health, administering medications, and assisting with medical procedures to support treatment plans. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients and their families. Ultimately, the LPN contributes to positive patient outcomes by maintaining accurate records and adhering to established healthcare protocols and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment within the United States.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, patient care techniques, and medication administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital, long-term care facility, or outpatient clinic setting.
- Additional certifications such as IV therapy, wound care, or geriatric nursing.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to the patient population served.
- Continuing education or specialized training in areas such as chronic disease management or palliative care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, symptoms, and progress, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses with medical procedures and patient assessments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
