HR Generalist
Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations across all practices. This role manages employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, HR compliance, benefits administration, employee documentation, and HR systems. The position ensures consistent HR processes while supporting leadership, recruiting, and employee experience initiatives.
This role serves as the administrative foundation for the HR function.
Core Responsibilities
1. Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
- Manage onboarding process for all new hires
- Prepare new hire documentation
- Ensure completion of:
- I-9 verification
- W-4
- Direct deposit
- Employee handbook acknowledgments
- Coordinate orientation schedules
- Process employee separations and exit documentation
- Conduct exit interviews when appropriate
2. HR Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain employee personnel files
- Ensure compliance with:
- Federal and state labor laws
- Required employment records
- Support audits and compliance reviews
3. Benefits Administration
- Manage employee benefits enrollment
- Serve as employee contact for benefits questions
- Coordinate annual open enrollment
- Work with benefits broker on changes or issues
4. HR Systems & Data Management
- Maintain HRIS system
- Oversight and Management of Company Review Process
- Generate HR reports for leadership
5. Employee Relations Support
- Serve as a point of contact for basic HR questions
- Support leadership with HR documentation
- Assist with performance improvement documentation
- Escalate complex issues to leadership when necessary
6. Recruiting & Training Support
Provide cross-functional support to recruiting and training initiatives to ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience from hire through onboarding:
- Support coordination of hiring and onboarding processes across all locations
- Assist in the preparation and management of employment-related documentation
- Help facilitate onboarding and training activities to ensure timely completion
- Provide administrative and logistical support for training and development initiatives
- Maintain accurate records related to recruiting and training activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- 3–5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources or People Operations
- Experience supporting multi-location or healthcare/dental environments strongly preferred
- Prior experience handling employee relations, compliance, and HR processes independently
- Solid understanding of HR principles, employment law, and HR best practices
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, including I-9, wage and hour laws, and personnel documentation
- Ability to support and guide managers on HR-related matters
- Experience with HRIS systems and reporting
- Ability to analyze and manage HR data to support decision-making
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with leadership and staff
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR)
- Experience in a growing or multi-site organization
- Experience supporting change management or organizational growth initiatives
