The Senior Demand and Supply Planning Manager will lead advanced planning, forecasting and supply balancing across all product lines for both domestic and international, including trunk stock, service items, and FRUs, to support revenue goals and Field Service operations.
The role collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Field Support, and Revenue Planning to evaluate forecast changes and their operational impact, while monitoring forecast accuracy against actual sales to identify risks such as inventory imbalances or potential backorders. This senior individual contributor will drive end-to-end demand and supply alignment, optimize inventory and service levels, and influence executive-level supply chain decisions. The planning manager also manages inventory levels across domestic and international 3PL partners, coordinates timely replenishment, and works with the Master Scheduler and Logistics teams on allocation decisions during supply constraints.
This role requires a strong blend of analytical capability, operational leadership, and strategic thinking to ensure supply continuity while supporting business growth and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role provides regular reporting on forecast performance, operations metrics, and KPIs, and ensures compliance with the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for demand and supply planning processes, influencing supply chain strategy and planning initiatives.
- Provide data-driven insights into executive leadership regarding demand trends, supply risks, and inventory strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and SIOP processes.
- Responsible for identifying the domestic and international demand of all products to support sales revenue, trunk stock, and service items and FRUs to support the Field Service team.
- Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Clinical, Field Support and Finance teams to ensure accurate demand signals and market intelligence are incorporated into forecasts and the impact on the Operations team.
- Compare forecasts to actual sales and escalate any discrepancy that could impact inventory targets or that could be a back-order risk.
- Manage the inventory in domestic and international 3PLs to always keep healthy inventory and submit shipping requests to replenish in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the Master Scheduler and Logistics to facilitate the development of allocation decision at 3PLs when FGI is in short supply.
- Analyze forecast performance and implement improvements to forecasting methodologies.
- Develop supply scenarios and contingency plans to mitigate supply risk and support product availability.
- Report regularly on Operations and Production metrics and KPI's, identify trends and issues, and suggest counter measures to improve KPI performance.
- Support product launches, lifecycle management, and portfolio rationalization initiatives.
- Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in a Make-to-Stock Production Planning role in the medical device industry or other manufacturing regulated industries
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in ERP/MRP systems
- Deep expertise in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, SIOP/Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes and inventory optimization.
- Experience managing complex global supply networks including internal manufacturing and contract manufacturers.
- Proficient with MS Excel.
- Demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills.
- Foster strong collaboration across multiple departments to ensure alignment on schedules and priorities.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills by identifying potential scheduling conflicts and escalating in a timely manner to minimize supply disruptions.
- Excellent time management and organization skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines.
- APICS Certified
- Salesforce experience
- Travel Requirements domestic and international 10%
- Be willing to work in the office (Hybrid schedule available) – may be remote after initial 6–8-week onboarding period.
