Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a full time Junior Structural Engineer I in San Diego, CA.
Summary: Provide structural engineering support to our customer related to U.S. Navy ships and vessels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform complex engineering calculations for design development and to calculate strength, vibration behavior, and safety of modifications and/or repairs to the ship.
Prepare layout and detail drawings and sketches for varied and complex design projects using computer aided drafting software.
Assist reviewing production contractor Work Items, access cut plans, design calculations, and other structural engineering related documents for accuracy and technical acceptability.
Review lifting plans and safety nets for design and testing.
Develop and review weight test memos.
Perform Structural Calculation and FEA analysis.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Oceaneering, or related major.
1 year full-time experience with the design, installation, repair, structural assessments, and maintenance of naval or marine structures or related equipment
Must be proficient in MS Office
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $32.30 To $35.00 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience
ADA Notations:
Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight
Ability to work in office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, and shipboard locations.
Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud, hearing protection may be required at times.
May be required to go aloft onboard ships to inspect Tanks, Voids, Spaces, and Superstructures.
