JOB TITLE: Program Manager, NAMC


POSITION SUMMARY:


The NAMC manufacturing Program Manager reports to the NAMC Senior Director and is responsible for managing high school outreach and employer engagement activities to promote manufacturing career pathways. This is a grant-funded position with current secured funding through June 30, 2027.


The Program Manager plays a vital role in guiding high school students toward fulfilling and rewarding careers in the manufacturing industry. This position provides comprehensive career exploration support, helping students explore manufacturing-related pathways and successfully transition to post-secondary education or the workforce.


The Program Manager collaborates closely with students, educators and industry partners to ensure participants gain the skills, knowledge, and resources needed for success in manufacturing careers. In addition, this role is responsible for coordinating manufacturing-related events and advancing NAMC’s broader manufacturing programming initiatives.


The Program Manager will manage partnerships with schools throughout Northeast Massachusetts, including, but not limited to: Peabody High School, North Andover High School, RISE Academy and Greater Lawrence High School, Triton Regional High School, Everett High School, Chelsea High School, and Revere High School. Work with other schools may also be added as the project progresses.


This is a hybrid position that requires regular, in-person work and travel throughout Massachusetts, primarily the Northeast area. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

The NAMC Program Manager will participate in various events in the Northeast region with MassHire Workforce Boards and MassHire Career Centers, focusing on promoting manufacturing careers and training to K-12 students, parents, and partners. In addition, this position may require in-person presence at staff meetings, staff training/retreats, and other instances as determined by NAMC’s Senior Director.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

This role is ideal for a collaborative, mission-driven professional committed to student success, workforce development, and innovative education-to-career pathways. Training, onboarding, and ongoing support are provided to ensure success.


  • Support the design and implementation of career exploration programs that introduce high school students to advanced manufacturing and skilled trades.
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, and activities to help students understand career pathways and develop career readiness skills.
  • Provide individual and group guidance on career planning, training options, and post-graduation pathways.
  • Collaborate with school staff to align programs with student needs and integrate career awareness into the school environment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employers, training providers, and workforce partners to expand student opportunities.
  • Coordinate career-connected learning experiences such as guest speakers, site visits, internships, and career events.
  • Assist in planning and hosting events, including career fairs, expos, and workshops, that connect students with industry professionals.
  • Track program participation and outcomes to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and upkeep accounts, contacts, grant opportunities, and correspondence with funding entities within the Salesforce platform.
  • Support students in developing essential career readiness skills, such as resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective program implementation and communication.
  • Assist with grant activities, including documentation, reporting, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Use digital tools and learning platforms to support program delivery and enhance student engagement.
  • Promote equitable access and engagement among underserved student populations.
  • Facilitate connections between students and post-secondary education, training programs, or employment opportunities that align with their individual goals.
  • Gather feedback from students, partners, and stakeholders to inform ongoing program development and improvement.
  • Support outreach initiatives by communicating with students, families, and partners to increase awareness of program opportunities.
  • Other projects assigned.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Demonstrated experience engaging with high school students or young adult populations.
  • Demonstrated interest or familiarity with advanced manufacturing, skilled trades, or workforce development pathways.
  • Experience utilizing educational technology platforms or learning management systems (LMS).
  • Exposure to strategic planning or program development within educational or workforce settings.
  • Familiarity with grant-funded programs, including fundamental reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting or participating in advisory groups or committees involving educational and industry partners.
  • Experience developing and managing partnerships across multiple types of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Northeast Massachusetts.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
