Position Summary
The Construction Administrator provides essential administrative and coordination support to ensure construction projects progress efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with required standards. This role works closely with the Construction Manager, internal team members, and subcontractors to manage permitting, documentation, scheduling, and field coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and manage permit statuses, including pole owners, railroad crossings, and KYTC permits.
- Assist with coordinating scheduling for railroad and roadway crossings.
- Collaborate with Administrative Assistant to develop and update field prints for construction teams.
- Work with Administrative Assistant to prepare and distribute prints and design packages to subcontractors.
- Track subcontractor progress and help ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Maintain organized project documentation and provide status reporting as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in an administrative or supervisory role.
Required Skills
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate effectively with teams, project managers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with contractors, construction managers, and internal departments to ensure seamless project execution.
- Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and management levels.
- Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects and priorities efficiently.
- Technical: Proficiency in construction materials, methods, techniques, and project management software.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, resolve problems, and make timely, sound decisions.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Adobe; working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Additional Tools: Experience with Google Earth and KMZ files preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
