About This Position
EEC Solutions is looking for a Physical Security Network Engineer for an upcoming contract opportunity.
The Physical Security Network Engineer serves as a Key Personnel position responsible for the full lifecycle operation, maintenance, and engineering of the Electronic Security System (ESS)/LENEL network infrastructure supporting USSOUTHCOM's collateral and SCI security programs at HQ USSOUTHCOM in Doral, FL. This individual provides Tier 3 IT services, manages ESS network security hardware, and ensures continuous availability of all physical security systems. The position requires on-call availability and response to critical ESS failures after hours, on holidays, and weekends within two (2) hours. As Key Personnel, this individual is subject to government approval for any substitution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot USSOUTHCOM ESS/LENEL network infrastructure devices and services.
- Provide IT Tier 3 services including research, development, and implementation of solutions to complex/unknown network issues.
- Configure and maintain network security hardware to detect and respond to threats across the ESS network.
- Provide internal and external IPv4 primary and secondary DNS services for USSOUTHCOM Security ESS network.
- Leverage FCAPS framework for network management; monitor, alert, and forecast network problems.
- Configure and maintain all network equipment for log collection and retention; manage SIEM tools.
- Manage, update, and troubleshoot all SAN and other storage technology devices across the ESS network.
- Develop and implement Backup Plan supporting traditional IT backup; maintain Backup Testing Schedule.
- Provide virtualization services for virtualized platforms and systems.
- Provide all Active Directory management services including DNS, DHCP, group policy, and certificates.
- Develop and establish system to track maintenance agreements with Lenel, Quest, Solar Winds, Microsoft, NETAPP, Thales, and other ESS software/hardware components.
- Prepare written ESS lifecycle replacement plan within 30 days of contract award; update annually.
- Respond to critical ESS failures after duty hours, on holidays, and weekends within two (2) hours.
- Research, advise, and provide recommendations/quotes for ESS and Physical Security enhancements procurements.
- Maintain standby roster for after/off duty hours response.
- Adhere to USSOUTHCOM and CJCSI Cyber Conditions (CYBERCON) incident reporting requirements.
Minimun Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Minimum five (5) years of specialized network engineering experience in DoD or IC environments.
- Experience with ESS/LENEL systems and classified network infrastructure strongly required.
- CompTIA Security+ (SEC+) or equivalent (current); CCNA or equivalent (current); DoDM 8140.03 baseline IA/IT certification upon contract award.
- Top Secret with SCI access required (TS/SCI); Tier 5 investigation completed within past five (5) years.
- NATO information access required. Must be eligible for access at time of proposal submission and maintain for life of contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lenel Certified Professional (LGE-Core, LGE-Access, LGE-Enterprise) - must be obtained within 120 days of award if not already held.
- Experience with SIEM tools, ACAS/Nessus, HBSS.
- Familiarity with RMF/ATO processes.
