Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Buyer/Planner to work at our location in Westminster, SC. This job is onsite Monday-Friday.
Position Information:
Correlates planning and scheduling to coordinate order release dates for manufacturing to obtain maximum utilization of machines and equipment and timing of assembly, shipping, and other related operations. Develops general company-wide cross-functional relationships. Analyzes various materials and services for different suppliers and develops strategic supplier relationships as necessary to serve the needs of production and purchasing.

Responsibilities
Buyer/Planner Responsibilities:
- Continuous improvements
- Plans production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet delivery requirements.
- Prepares and analyzes information relating to materials, scheduling, and planning.
- Plans and analyzes the procurement of materials to assure accurate and timely on-hand quantities based on production estimates relative to economic order points and lead time parameters. Also, is responsible for MRO purchases.
- Conduct supplier review for on-time delivery and quality expectations. Takes actions when sub-contractor is not performing at desired levels. This may include a corrective action process that involves several departments within both organizations.
- Where possible, recommends component standardization to create economies of scale and reduce variables, thus enhancing quality and developing potential cost savings.
- Provides information and shares ideas about materials and purchasing operations that will assist in the development of successful strategic plans for the plant.
Qualifications
Buyer/Planner Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related business field plus 5 years of relevant experience.
- OR a 2-year Associate Degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.
- Must have previous purchasing related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.
