Site Coordinator (Bridges to Success Program)

Position Details
  • Job title: Site Coordinator, Bridges to Success
  • Reports to: Assistant Director of Case Management
  • Division: Case Management
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day. Hours may adjust based on site needs. Scheduling flexibility is provided during summer and other non-program periods.
Job Summary

As the link between the school and the community, the Site Coordinator coordinates support services for students and families—helping remove barriers so students can stay in school, succeed academically, and thrive. Key responsibilities include student support, data collection and evaluation, collaboration with school/CIS teams, community networking, professional development, budget management, training compliance, and managing a student caseload.

This role focuses on literacy tutoring and works hand in hand with school administration, teachers, parents/guardians, neighborhood partners, other nonprofits, and civic organizations to bolster student success. Work Environment

This position is based in a bustling, high-energy school environment with many moving parts—plus plenty of laughter and fun. Student supervision is an integral part of the role. The Site Coordinator plans and delivers activities in person and virtually, using a variety of tools and resources. Some duties may take place outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Essential Job Responsibilities (During the School Day)
  • Student Support & Development: Build positive one-on-one relationships with students. Facilitate small groups focused on life skills, decision-making, and goal setting. Conduct home visits when needed to assess family needs and connect families with community services (e.g., mental health supports, food resources, crisis support). Review admission applications, conduct student orientations, and evaluate progress using pre- and post-surveys. Complete regular academic and attendance check-ins.
  • Data Collection & Evaluation: Keep all student paperwork and profile folders current. Maintain program databases with weekly updates and accurate attendance records. Gather, enter, and analyze academic and family data to support program evaluation. Submit required progress reports and event documentation.
  • Reporting: Analyze data trends and compile statistics for grant deliverables and end-of-year reporting.
  • Relationships & Collaboration: Promote CIS’s mission and maintain strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, guidance staff, volunteers, and community partners. Participate in school leadership efforts as appropriate. Create and distribute newsletters highlighting program accomplishments.
  • Community Networking: Represent CIS at community functions and promote program goals. Coordinate with CIS staff to develop networking opportunities and secure resources that support student needs.
  • Professional Development: Attend required CIS training and meetings, building skills in program development, technology, and data evaluation.
  • Budget & Fiscal Responsibility: Follow Finance procedures and complete required documentation. Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and apply cost-saving measures when appropriate.
  • Program Management: Plan and coordinate monthly routines, including supply organization, guest speakers, volunteers, and instructor support.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow grant requirements, safety protocols, and licensing regulations. Maintain first-aid supplies, follow Workers’ Compensation processes, and attend required school or partner trainings.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience working with school-age youth in educational or community settings.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Cultural competency: Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with local human-service agencies and community resources.
  • Personal attributes: High energy, flexibility, resourcefulness, and enthusiasm for youth development.
  • Other requirements: Reliable transportation for travel to school sites and community meetings.
Work Requirements
  • Ability to travel between school sites and within the community as needed.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for events and meetings.
  • Ability to pass a Level II DCF criminal background check and be cleared by DCPS as an educational vendor.
