Data, Analytics & AI Summer Intern at Northeast Bank – Minneapolis, Minnesota

Status: Paid internship
Reports To: Chief Strategy Officer
Hours: 20–30 hours per week during the summer (flexibility based on candidate’s schedule)
Location: Onsite – Minneapolis

Northeast Bank is seeking a paid Summer Intern to support the Bank’s Data, Analytics & AI efforts. This is a hybrid business and technical internship for an undergraduate student who is interested in business analytics, data strategy, dashboard development, and responsible AI adoption in a community bank environment.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• The intern will help support practical foundational work such as identifying and defining data sources, data cleansing and migration efforts
• Assisting with first-generation dashboards
• Helping business areas document their reporting pain points and requirements, and supporting the identification and prioritization of analytics and AI use cases.
• The role will also help with research, briefing materials, and presentation development to support AI education for the Bank.
• Assist team in defining vendor-evaluation criteria and tools for future data and analytics infrastructure and reporting solutions and help research possible solutions.
• Conduct research and prepare summaries or presentation materials related to data, analytics, governance, and AI for leadership discussions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Interest in data, analytics, reporting, and emerging AI tools in a business setting

Preferred:

• Experience with basic data analysis, reporting, or data preparation
• Interest in banking, financial services, or related industries
• Exposure to AI tools or process-improvement projects

Education:

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, information systems, computer science, data science, or a related field

Experience:

• Previous experience or coursework involving analytics, databases, business intelligence, or data visualization is preferred.
• Familiarity with Power BI or other dashboard / data visualization tools is a plus.
