POSITION SUMMARY
McCarthy is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full-time Assistant Design Managerposition. Applicant mustpossess 5 years of substantial drafting & 3D modeling experience and will need to demonstratethe ability to oversee and manage multiple projects throughout the project life cycle. Applicant must also have be able to work in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment while meeting project deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Import, review and process survey field data.
  • Prepare projectbase setups for design staff.
  • Perform Quality Control for all 2D Utility Exhibits and 3D Utility Models generated by design staff.
  • Participate in project kickoff & finalQuality Control meetings.
  • Assign, oversee, and manage weekly workload to design staff.
  • Manage schedule of final deliverables across multiple projects and deliverables.
  • Works with partners to improvedesign processes and workflows of Design Department.
  • Collaborate withField Operations Manager to ensure seamless transition of survey field data to office personnel.
  • Coordinate with Survey teams by providing control data and layout files upon request.
  • Provide constructive feedback todesign department in support of QA/QC procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Safety Oriented
  • Background in Civil Engineering Site Design
  • Background inLand Surveying principles
  • Strong critical thinking and trouble shooting skills
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center
  • Experience withRevizto Integrated Collaboration Platform
  • Solid understanding of the BIM process
  • ArcGIS experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of design and construction of subsurface utility infrastructure
  • Experience in importing, translating and rotating survey points to project control
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to adapt new tools and technologies to keep project deliverables up to date with continuously evolving industry.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills with strict attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Time Management skills to effectively meet project deadlines.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
