In this role, you will act as a strategic technical leader, driving the design and development of scalable financial systems tailored for emerging markets in the Middle East. You will shape architectural standards, influence engineering practices, and lead complex, cross-team initiatives with organization-wide impact. Accountabilities:
  • Architect and design scalable, high-performance software systems, setting technical direction and establishing engineering best practices
  • Lead complex, multi-team initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and quality standards
  • Define and implement event-driven architectures, APIs, and distributed systems to support financial infrastructure at scale
  • Ensure systems meet reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance requirements across Middle Eastern markets
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and external vendors to align software architecture with regional deployment and operational needs
  • Drive performance optimization, identify bottlenecks, and implement long-term solutions to improve system efficiency
  • Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and quality benchmarks across the engineering organization
  • Mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Contribute to organizational strategy by influencing engineering processes, technical roadmaps, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Lead documentation efforts, knowledge sharing, and technical discussions to support scalable and maintainable systems
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of building and scaling complex production systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Go or similar backend programming languages, with deep knowledge of system design and architecture
  • Extensive experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing patterns
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern infrastructure practices
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-team technical initiatives and influence engineering strategy at an organizational level
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system-wide issues
  • Experience establishing coding standards, testing frameworks, and quality assurance practices
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams
  • Familiarity with financial systems, fintech environments, or regulatory frameworks is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the Middle East region for strategic alignment and on-site collaboration
