General Job Summary:

The Credit Officer will assist in the management of the loan portfolio. Working with the Credit Management team, lenders, and operations team members, the role will be primarily responsible for helping to adjudicate and service the existing loan portfolio, comprised of commercial and industrial and real estate loans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Appraisal Management. Oversee the Bank’s appraisal management program. Order and review appraisal, or other valuation, reports for all property types. Maintain the Bank’s approved appraiser list.

· Special Assets. In conjunction with the Credit Management team, assist with managing loans in the special asset portfolio. Ensure watch loan reports are updated quarterly. Prepare quarterly impairment analyses.

· Loan Approvals. In conjunction with the Credit Management team, work with lenders on structuring and approving deals within delegated authority levels.

· Portfolio Monitoring. Prepare monthly board reports and conduct annual stress testing. Stay up to date on industry and economic trends. Prepare quarterly market white papers. Create ad-hoc reports.

· Annual Reviews. Oversee the Bank’s annual review process. Track progress of completed annual reviews against Bank established goals. Approve annual reviews where required.

· Compliance. Ensure knowledge and compliance with the organization’s Loan Policy and regulatory standards.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of related banking experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent credit, problem solving, and decision quality skills.
  • Proficient in reporting and data analysis. Ability to extract data from the Bank's core system.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory guidance, particularly those related to real estate valuations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
