About This Position

Scheduler

POSITION PURPOSE
The Scheduler position is responsible for efficiently coordinating and scheduling imaging appointments for patients, facilitating a seamless and timely experience. The Scheduler interacts with patients, healthcare providers and radiology staff to schedule diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs), computed tomography (CT) scans, ultrasounds and other related exams. The Scheduler verifies all necessary documentation, insurance authorizations and patient information is accurately gathered and updated, while maintaining a high level of customer service. Additionally, the position requires the ability to be professional and manage multiple calls, optimizing workflow and helping to reduce patient wait times, all while adhering to department policies, healthcare regulations and best practices.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in medical scheduling.
  • Basic knowledge of medical and radiology terminology.
Education:
  • High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE).
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers and insurance companies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and compassionately with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required, with the ability to adapt to varying schedules or workloads as needed.
  • Ability to handle scheduling conflicts or issues effectively and find solutions that accommodate both patients and medical staff.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information professionally and confidentially, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
