About This Position

Job Summary

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the procurement of both BOM materials and indirect goods and services to support manufacturing operations, engineering, maintenance, and facility requirements. This role focuses on supplier management, contract negotiation, cost optimization, and ensuring the timely availability of materials and services. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement within procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement of mechanical parts, electronic components, and a wide range of indirect materials and services, including MRO items, facility maintenance supplies, engineering tools, machinery parts, office supplies, and contractor services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure purchased goods and services meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Drive cost-effective purchasing decisions by identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, and facility teams to understand requirements and ensure timely procurement of critical materials and services.
  • Monitor inventory levels for critical materials, place orders as needed, and ensure timely replenishment to support operations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Analyze procurement data and supplier performance to support reporting, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline procurement activities, reduce lead times, and improve supplier performance.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders regarding product availability, delivery schedules, and quality specifications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, including both BOM materials and indirect goods/services, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven experience managing supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Experience working with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of procurement best practices including supplier evaluation, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
  • Experience purchasing mechanical, electronic, and MRO materials and services.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with cost analysis, budgeting, and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with AI tools or advanced analytics platforms for procurement optimization.
  • Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or equivalent.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. The role may require occasional visits to production or warehouse areas and interaction with engineering, maintenance, and facility teams.
