This role is a high-impact leadership position responsible for driving the digital transformation and operational excellence of credit risk decisioning systems. You will oversee the development, optimization, and integration of advanced decision engines and analytics platforms, directly influencing underwriting, fraud detection, and portfolio performance. The position involves leading a team of developers and analysts, collaborating across business units, and implementing AI/ML and automation strategies to enhance efficiency and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in aligning technology with strategic objectives, ensuring scalable, robust solutions, and continuously improving credit risk processes. This is a dynamic, innovative environment where strategic vision, technical expertise, and people leadership are essential. The role demands a balance of hands-on technical guidance and executive-level decision-making to support organizational goals.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end digital transformation of credit risk decisioning platforms, leveraging AI/ML, automation, and advanced analytics
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of decision support systems that optimize underwriting, portfolio management, and fraud detection
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of developers and analysts, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and professional growth
  • Collaborate with Credit Risk, Operations, IT, Legal/Compliance, Product, and other business units to align decision strategies with organizational objectives
  • Prioritize and implement new underwriting and remarketing strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements
  • Direct testing life cycles, including UAT, integration, regression, and post-implementation validation, ensuring robust system performance
  • Oversee the creation of analytical tools and reporting to monitor credit risk performance, process effectiveness, and business insights
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, decision systems, or rules development, with 3+ years in a leadership role managing multiple developers/analysts
  • Advanced proficiency in decision engine software (e.g., Provenir Cloud 2.0, GDS Link) and decision science implementation
  • Strong technical skills in relational databases (SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB), and API integration (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML)
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML, statistical modeling, and programming in SAS, R, or Python
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver measurable improvements in credit and fraud risk processes
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, IT, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Prior financial services experience with a record of enhancing credit and risk decision systems
