Senior Supervising Producer, International
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a Senior Supervising Producer, International to help run its video coverage outside of the U.S. Based in London, this leadership role works across news and enterprise video, working closely with newsroom colleagues to deliver distinctive, revelatory and news-making journalism.
This position calls for an experienced editorial leader with exceptional production and management skills, a global mindset and the ability to lead both ambitious enterprise projects and investigations as well as fast-moving coverage of international news and geopolitics. The ideal candidate will be decisive, collaborative, and deeply invested in producing content that serves WSJ's core subscribers while also reaching broader audiences across platforms. This role requires an understanding of great storytelling, pacing and building audience connection. A successful candidate must have a proven track record of mentoring and managing teams across multiple time zones and be able to bring out the best in producers, reporters, cinematographers, and editors.
The successful candidate will bring sharp editorial judgment and organizational vision to ensure a steady cadence of ambitious enterprise journalism as well as breaking news that cuts through the 24/7 information cycle.

- Manage and mentor story teams, fostering collaboration, growth, and innovation.
- Deputise for the Executive Producer, International where required.
- Run coverage of breaking news while managing ambitious enterprise and investigative projects.
- Shape and refine story ideas, scripts, and edits to ensure high production values and the highest journalistic standards.
- Work closely with the video leadership team to develop new and engaging formats for our journalism and to manage resources efficiently.
- Represent and elevate WSJ video journalism on the global stage, working flexibly across time zones and breaking news demands.
- Be a positive member of the editorial leadership team in London, working successfully with the executive producer, coverage chiefs, and beat reporters.
You have:
- You have significant experience in a fast-paced, daily video news environment, working to tight deadlines.
- Coupled with that, a substantial track record of producing distinctive enterprise reporting and investigations
- Deep knowledge of global politics, economics and current affairs, plus a sharp eye for stories that resonate with WSJ's audience.
- A demonstrated history of striving for ambitious coverage with exceptional editorial judgment, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Experience operating in the field as well as running field teams and producing across the globe, particularly in high and extreme risk environments.
- A commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive team culture, with a track record of modeling professionalism, integrity and sound judgment.
- An ability to lead by example, setting high standards for collaboration, accountability and constructive communication, especially under pressure, building trust, and resolving conflicts.
- Exceptional script-writing and editing experience under tight deadlines.
- Experience with documentary and series development and production.
- Experience working with reporters and correspondents to develop a voice and on-camera style
- Unrestricted ability to work in the UK.
Also highly desirable:
- On camera experience.
- Experience of working a specific beat (subject or geographical region).
- Fluency in other languages.
