Job Summary
City Brewery in La Crosse, WI, has immediate opportunities for a Quality Assurance Technician. This position is responsible for monitoring and verifying that products meet established quality and safety standards throughout the production process. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, documenting results, and identifying non-conformities to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The QA Technician works closely with production, packaging, and sanitation teams to promote a culture of quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a thorough understanding of quality control procedures are essential for success in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and finished product inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct routine testing of raw materials, packaging materials and final products.
- Monitor production lines for adherence to GMP, HACCP and SOP’s.
- Document inspection results, test data, and any deviations or non-conformances.
- Communicate quality issues to appropriate departments and assist in root cause analysis.
- Verify and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in internal audits and support external inspections as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized quality records and logs.
- Enforce company quality and food safety policies.
- Comply with PPE requirements.
- Participate in sensory evaluations and product tastings when required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related field required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to prioritize an assigned workload.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Highly motivated, self-directed individual that is able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, often loud manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teammates of varying skills and backgrounds.
- Effective analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must be available for any and all shift, weekends and overtime as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screening, functional capacity exam, background check & confirmation of education credentials.
