Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Pontiac, Michigan at Peninsula Plastics Company Inc

Description:

Our company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This position works directly on a team that reports to the logistics manager to load/unload inbound, outbound, and transfer trailers. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Reports to: Logistics Manager
Shift: 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Responsibilities:

• Performs daily inspections before beginning operations
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Receives goods and verifies the quality/count of all items being unloaded. Checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to the manager.
• Uses best judgement to properly organize products that have been delivered.
• Verifies and scans all items loaded for outbound shipments.
• Loads and Unloads transfer trailers that operate between facilities.
• Performs/provides accurate inventory counts monthly.
• Completes check sheets to verify all items are properly loaded.
• Performs other clerical duties as necessary.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Hi-Lo/Forklift experience in a warehouse environment
• Certified Hi-Lo License from a reputable company
• Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data entry
• Understanding of factory and warehousing procedures
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data entry
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
