Job Description
The UX Designer is responsible for applying strong UX critical thinking to design and prototype visually compelling user interfaces (UI) for the various digital services we offer. The UX Designer is also expected to balance analytical problem-solving with a sharp eye for visual aesthetics and assist in developing the overall functionality of our products. To ensure a great user experience, the UX Designer must iterate design and solutions in accordance with business needs and user validation methods. This is a mid-level, remote position.
Essential Functions:
- Translate product requirements and user needs into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
- Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing for digital product solutions
- Design and deliver interactive prototypes utilizing and contributing to established design systems and component libraries.
- Identify design problems and devise solutions
- Make strategic UX design decisions that align with product roadmaps and support both short-term business goals and long-term product strategy
- Leverage UX/UI best practices to design solutions
- Take a user-centered design approach to rapidly test and iterate designs
- Partner with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements and user feedback into wholistic design solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless handoff and design fidelity during implementation
- Communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to teams and clients
- Champion new ideas offering innovative solutions through exceptional product design
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a design-focused field (such as HCI, UX/UI Design, Product Design, or Visual Communication) OR equivalent professional UX/UI design experience backed by a strong portfolio and resume
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in UX/UI or Product Design
- Portfolio demonstrating strong UX critical thinking and exceptional visual design skills
- Portfolio of work showcasing web application designs from concept to production
- Knowledge of mobile-first and responsive design
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Strong grasp of user-centered design principles, information architecture (IA), and interaction design
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Advanced proficiency in Figma for interactive prototyping using design system variables and components
- Foundational understanding of HTML/CSS structure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate and communicate closely with teams and stakeholders
- Comfortable providing and receiving constructive criticism and feedback
- Empathy for user needs and a passion for creating impactful, user-centered experiences
- Experience using AI prototyping and design tools to accelerate workflows such as Figma Make or Claude Design
- Deep understanding of UI component usage and visual design principles (scale, visual hierarchy, balance, contrast, and gestalt principles)

This position is open to US residents only.
The targeted salary range for this position is $69,800 - $102,600.
The posted salary range for this position may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; internal pay equity; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
