SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining public restrooms and surrounding grounds in a clean, sanitary, and welcoming condition through the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean restrooms, lobbies, hallways, and maintenance areas thoroughly and consistently
- Remove litter from outdoor spaces and empty exterior trash receptacles as needed
- Maintain proper uniform standards and demonstrate courteous behavior toward all visitors
- Perform cleaning duties in Welcome Station offices and comfort stations as assigned
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities attached to this position title.

- Must be able to pass Level 2 fingerprint background check, (https://info.flclearinghouse.com), Dept. of Children and Families abuse registry check, and local law enforcement check, Affidavit of Good Moral Character.
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must be 21 years of age, have valid driver's license, a good driving record and proof of vehicle insurance and registration with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Required
- Must possess valid State of Florida driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass a FDLE fingerprint check, Dept. of Children and Families Abuse Registry check, and a local law enforcement check,
- Must complete an Affidavit of Good Moral Character upon the pre-employment process.
- Must pass a Drug Screen
- HIPAA completion will be required annually and Zero Tolerance completion will be required every 3 years and is provided by The Arc Gateway, Inc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined below reflect those necessary for an employee to effectively carry out the essential duties of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to support individuals with disabilities in performing these functions.
During the course of work, the employee will regularly be required to stand, walk, and use their hands for tasks involving fingering, handling, or feeling. Frequent activities include reaching with arms and hands, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, climb, balance, speak, hear, or detect odors. The role also requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Employees in this position are regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. On occasion, they may encounter elevated or unstable locations, as well as fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work setting is generally moderate.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Due to the nature and location (Interstate Welcome Center) of the job, summer time holidays are the busiest times of the year: Employees will be required to work during these holidays.
