Position Overview
We are seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, managing appointment scheduling, and ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience. You will also support a variety of administrative and office functions as needed.
Working closely with both providers and patients, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient daily operations while delivering a high standard of compassionate care. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a dynamic, patient-facing role.
Travel Requirement: This is an on-site position based in our Denver office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them appropriately, including taking accurate, detailed messages and ensuring timely follow-up
- Schedule appointments for new and existing patients both by phone and in person
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and efficiently manage the check-in and check-out process
- Utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) system to:
- Verify insurance coverage and process disability forms
- Confirm that referrals and prior authorizations are obtained and documented
- Update patient demographic information as needed
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances in a professional manner
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations
Education and Experience
- 1-2 years of experience working in a professional medical office environment responsible for the front desk, or similar role.
- Minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using ModMed
- The ability to handle challenging situations with extreme patience and professionalism.
- Effective time management and organizational skills including prioritizing daily tasks.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, coworkers, and vendors in a professional, courteous manner.
- Must be committed and reliable reporting to work on time as scheduled to ensure business needs are met.
- Experience working in a team environment and understands the commitment to be collaborative.
- Must be able to ensure accurate, timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Respectfully accepts coaching and guidance provided constructively to ensure continual improvement, career growth, and development.
- PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understands additional tasks may be assigned to meet business needs.
