šÆ About the Role
Weāre looking for a dedicated Lead RN to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, the Lead Registered Nurse monitors the activities of the clinic and clinical team members to ensure compassionate, effective and efficient delivery of high quality clinical care for patients of all multi-specialties clinics that utilize the multi-specialty clinic. Responsible for coordinating the clinical and administrative functions that govern the provision of care within the multi-specialty practice. Works closely with the practice managers, their clinical staff and the providers to ensure an environment that is caring, healing and welcoming for patients.
š What Youāll Do
Clinical Leadership: The Lead RN for Multispecialty will coordinate and supervise the activities of clinical team members engaged in clinical care for patients under the supervision of a Physician or provider for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Monitor daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely. The Lead RN will identify and recommend solutions to the practice's leadership members and office issues or problems. Express concerns with the Practice Manager in regards to any behavior or duties that are not being performed.
Policies and Procedures: Assisting in implementing and maintaining nursing policies and procedures for multispecialty practice. Participates in data collection and monitoring as needed.
Inventory / Supply Management: The Lead RN will assist in maintaining adequate clinical supplies with the specialty sites approvals. Ensure clinical equipment remains in operating condition and all equipment remains up to date and in appropriate operating condition.
Patient Care: The Lead RN will assist the different specialty clinicās medical assistants, nurses and providers with maintaining patient flow to ensure patients are seen timely and efficiently. He/she will assist the team medical assistants, nurses and providers as needed by returning patient calls and completing provider orders such as medication refills, scheduling referral and/or specialist appointments, performing venipunctures and/or finger sticks, completing laboratory forms and performing other tests such as a urinalysis, strep test, EKG, vision screening, pulse oximetry, etc. He/she will serve as a back-up for clinical team members as needed by working as a providerās primary nurse or assistant due to staffing needs including vacations, illnesses, lunches, etc. Attend periodic training sessions and meetings pertinent to position and maintain certification or licensure. Maintain CPR certification.
Communication: The Lead RN will Maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with patients, providers, clinical and clerical team members within SHMG and insurance companies, the public and the medical community outside SHMG for continuity of high quality patient care and maintain effective working relationships with all SHMG departments including, but not limited to Operations, Human Resources, IS, etc. He/she will attend clinical meetings at the multispecialty sites and relay pertinent information to clinical team members timely.
ā What You Bring
Education, Training & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required. Licensed to practice in the State of New York.
- Minimum of two years' clinical experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
