Target Opening: Late June 2026

The Role

As the Kitchen Manager, you are the heartbeat of VOX Kitchen. You will oversee all back-of-house (BOH) functions—from food purchasing and quality control to safety, sanitation, and team development. You aren't just managing a kitchen; you’re maintaining the high standards of a brand known for innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Excellence & Operations

  • Ensure all bold, fusion dishes are consistently prepared according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
  • Manage food ordering and inventory; ensure all deliveries meet specifications and are received correctly.
  • Control food costs through diligent requisitioning, waste control, and proper storage monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the management team to plan/price menu items and develop standard recipe cards.
  • Jump onto the line whenever necessary to ensure seamless service and a high-energy guest experience.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead the hiring, orientation, and training of all kitchen employees.
  • Design labor schedules that balance business needs with labor cost objectives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide fair, consistent coaching and corrective action.
  • Foster a culture of safety by training staff on equipment operation, first aid, CPR, and hazardous materials handling.

Administration & Maintenance

  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness through strict cleaning schedules (floors, hoods, equipment, storage).
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is kept in excellent working condition through regular inspections.
  • Complete all required paperwork, schedules, and reports in an organized, timely manner.
What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a kitchen management position.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a high-volume team.
  • Certification: Valid ServSafe Manager certification is required.

Requirements:

  • High Energy: Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Communication: Clear, effective verbal and written communication.
  • Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional hygiene, grooming habits, and attention to sanitation rules.
  • Flexibility: Adaptable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
