CR HM Coder HIM at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

The Health Information Management Department is seeking an Outpatient Coder to help with the coding of outpatient charts. The coder will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director and/or designee. The candidate should be qualified to perform such tasks as, but not limited to, proficiently assigning ICD-9-CM and CPT codes following coding guidelines, proficiently use 3M coding software, and maintain an educational relationship with coders and physicians and other duties commensurate with their ability as requested by their supervisor. The individual should have good communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

RHIA, RHIT, CCS ,CCA required. Upon hiring, the candidate will be required to attend an orientation session. This requirement must be met before beginning to work in the department.
