Stage Hand (Temporary) at State of South Carolina – West Columbia, South Carolina

We are looking for experienced and motivated Stagehands to support our team in the setup and execution of live performances. The ideal candidate will have a background working with live performance environments, and be physically capable of lifting to 50 lbs. This role requires someone who is eager to learn, can take direction well, and is also capable of working independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and Unload Equipment: Assist with the loading and unloading of stage equipment, props, and scenery, ensuring safe and efficient transport.
• Setup and Breakdown: Help set up and dismantle stage equipment, including sound
• systems, lighting rigs, and other production gear as required.
• Sound Operations: Utilize experience in sound to assist with the setup and operation of audio equipment, Including microphones, speakers, and mixers.
• Live Performance Support: Provide on-the-spot support during live performances, ha any issues that arise with equipment or stage setup.
• Follow Directions: Adhere to instructions from Stage Managers and production staff to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work independently when necessary, showing initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on stage equipment as needed.
• Organization and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized stage area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

High school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled in high school. At least 18 years old. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand, walk, and maneuver in various physical positions for extended periods.
Previous experience with lighting, sound, rigging equipment and live performances preferred.
