Job Overview

Solid Building Partners is seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our Field Operations team, supporting high-end residential and select commercial construction projects throughout the Charleston, South Carolina area. This role is ideal for a craftsperson who takes pride in precision, understands premium materials and finishes, and consistently delivers detail-driven work. The Skilled Carpenter will perform a wide range of carpentry tasks while maintaining the professionalism, organization, and quality standards expected in client-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality carpentry work including framing, trim, cabinetry, millwork, doors, windows, and custom built-ins

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications with minimal supervision

  • Execute work to tight tolerances and high aesthetic standards

  • Install and finish premium materials such as hardwoods, veneers, architectural panels, and specialty products

  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, designers, subcontractors, and other trades

  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site construction challenges efficiently and independently

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

  • Safely and efficiently operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment

  • Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards

  • Represent Solid Building Partners professionally in client-facing environments

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional carpentry experience, preferably in high-end residential and/or commercial construction

  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and best practices

  • Proven ability to deliver fine finish work and custom details

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency with a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to meeting project schedules without sacrificing quality

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as a team player

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying job site conditions

Compensation & Benefits
  • $25 - $30.00+ per hour to start
