The Position
We are looking for an PT AV Engineer for our client’s site in London. This position reports to the Client Services and Sales Manager.
The AV Engineer will work 3 days a week onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and will provide onsite engineering services to include troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of electronic communication systems including but not limited to video conferencing, audio visual, projection, pro audio, video control.
Responsible for the safe and correct diagnosis of faults, removal, repair, test, implementation and operation of all aspects of audio visual, video conference, display and presentation technologies.
This role requires a detail minded, technically skilled individual with strong customer service and problem-solving skills; able to multi-task and think quickly on your feet in a fast-paced environment. You need to be able to follow procedures and checklists but have the confidence to improvise when and where needed.
What will you be doing?
· Operating, troubleshooting and supporting a variety of AV systems including event environments
· Planning, executing and delivering Audio-Visual projects within a client environment
· Liaising with vendor and OEM wherever needed to restore the services.
· Operating remote monitoring tools including, but not limited to; Barco Overture, QSC, Medialon, Isaac
· Operating Control system software including, but not limited to; Crestron, AMX, Extron, Cisco, Alcorn McBride, etc.
· Operating DSP’s and related software including, but not limited to;
· QSC, BiAmp, Clearone, Dante, Audinate, Polycom Sound Structure, etc.
· Operating VC systems, codecs, and software including, but not limited to; Cisco, Poly, Zoom, WebEx, GoToMeeting, Bluejeans, Teams, Google Hangouts etc
· Providing high level of customer service, dealing with clients at all levels.
· Building and maintaining positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and vendors.
· Other duties as required or assigned by company management
· To ensure mandatory compliance with information security policies, standards and procedures.
Person Specification
· AVIXA CTS certified or ability to complete it within 6 months of hire date
· Proficient understanding of Network Architecture and IT systems
· Knowledge of Health and Safety rules and workplace safety
· Experience with projector alignment, blending, lamp and filter changes
· Experience or training on typical digital signage systems, tools and associated networks
· Experience or training on typical Webcast delivery systems, tools and associated networks
· Proficient with room booking and fault ticketing systems
· Ability to read, understand and convey schematics from CAD files
· Ability to analyse customer situations, make decisions and solve problems under pressure.
· Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Ability to be detail oriented and work without supervision.
· Strong desire to learn.
· Intermediate experience with Microsoft suite of products
· Ability to work on occasional weekend and out of hours
