E-Commerce Shipping Specialist at Abilene Goodwill Industries – Abilene, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY: Organizing inventory for easy retrieval. Picking and preparing merchandise for packing. Using best practices in packing to ensure merchandise is delivered to our customers in the condition it was presented in. Making sure orders get to our customers in a timely manner. Preparing pickup orders for our local customers.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• No experience required
• Shipping and inventory management experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIFIC SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of packaging technique and standards set by carriers.

Knowledge of regulations and requirements regarding shipping of different types of merchandise

Ability to utilize shipping software.

Must be able to follow directions

Must be able to recognize numbers

Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 30 lbs

Standing, bending, stooping, twisting and walking required

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Sort and place materials or items on post-production inventory shelving. (E)
• Assist in managing overall inventory and inventory data systems. (E)
• Maintain systems for record keeping and tracking data as required by supervisor. (E)
• Retrieve and process outgoing orders in a timely manner. (E)
• Visually inspect and separate items by category. (E)
• Create a detailed description of item for posting online. (E)
• Photograph each item for listing. (E)
• Post item for sale. (E)
• Respond to inquiries about listings and shipping requests. (E)
• Keep area clean and clear of hazards.
• Adhere to and enforce all company policies, procedures & practices.
• Assist other departments as needed
• Suggest changes to increase efficiency of department.
• Perform other duties as assigned
