This role sits at the center of late-stage drug development and strategic program execution within a fast-growing global pharmaceutical organization. You will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that support the delivery of high-priority therapeutic programs in oncology and rare diseases. Working closely with senior leadership, you will translate strategic objectives into structured execution plans, ensuring alignment across global teams and functions. The environment is highly collaborative and matrixed, requiring strong coordination across scientific, operational, and commercial stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving planning, governance, and delivery of critical development milestones while ensuring visibility, accountability, and performance across programs. In this role, you will manage end-to-end execution of late-stage pharmaceutical development programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and budgets while maintaining strong cross-functional coordination across global teams.
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex, late-stage drug development programs across multiple functions
- Develop, manage, and maintain integrated project plans, budgets, schedules, and milestone tracking
- Partner with senior leadership to define project strategy, objectives, and execution frameworks aligned with business priorities
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercial teams in a matrix environment
- Maintain project management systems (e.g., SmartSheet), ensuring accuracy in scheduling, reporting, and risk tracking
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, while managing change control processes including cost and timeline impact analysis
- Coordinate regular project reviews and reporting with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment
- Support governance processes and ensure consistent communication across internal and external stakeholders
- Coach and support project team members, contributing to PMO best practices and execution excellence
This position requires extensive experience in pharmaceutical or biotech project management, with a strong understanding of drug development processes and the ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs in a highly regulated environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related scientific field, or equivalent industry experience
- 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or drug development environments (Phases I–III exposure preferred)
- 5+ years of project management experience leading multiple concurrent, cross-functional programs
- Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
- Proven ability to work across multiple drug development functions such as clinical operations, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, or non-clinical development
- Experience managing complex schedules, dependencies, and deliverables across global teams
- PMP certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency with project management tools (SmartSheet experience preferred)
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills in matrixed organizations
- Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
