About the Role:

The Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within the non-durable goods manufacturing industry. This position is responsible for managing both inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining precise records, and coordinating with warehouse and logistics teams to meet delivery schedules. The Shipping Clerk ensures that all products are properly labeled, packaged, and documented to comply with company standards and regulatory requirements. By utilizing various warehouse equipment and technology, the Shipping Clerk supports the seamless flow of inventory and contributes to overall operational productivity. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction through timely and accurate shipping and receiving processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving or general warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with barcode scanning technology.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the non-durable goods manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with RF scanner technology and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Basic knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required by warehouse operations.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform data entry tasks related to shipping and receiving documentation to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring all items are properly scanned, labeled, and palletized.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to move and track inventory efficiently.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to schedule shipments and resolve any discrepancies or delays.

Skills:

The required skills such as data entry and barcode scanning are essential for maintaining accurate shipment records and tracking inventory movement daily. Proficiency with inbound and outbound shipping processes ensures that the Shipping Clerk can manage the flow of goods efficiently and prevent errors. Operating electric pallet jacks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners allows the clerk to handle physical inventory safely and quickly, supporting warehouse productivity. Knowledge of general warehouse operations and shipping/receiving procedures enables the clerk to identify and resolve issues proactively. Preferred skills like familiarity with warehouse management systems and shipping regulations enhance the clerk’s ability to comply with industry standards and improve overall workflow coordination.
