CENTRAL PLANT OPERATOR - PLANT MAINTENANCE

  • POSITION SUMMARY

    • The Central Energy Plant (CEP) Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of chilled water systems, high temperature hot water systems, steam system equipment controls, boilers and chillers for the heating and cooling of EAH facilities using computer operated monitoring and energy management systems.

  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum Education
      • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

    • Minimum Experience
      • 3 years of diagnostic, maintenance and repair experience with complex heating and cooling systems in the industrial sector

    • Required Registration/License/Certification
      • None

    • Preferred Education
      • 2-year degree in HVAC program that includes programmable logic controls (PLC)

    • Preferred Experience
      • 5 years of diagnostic, maintenance and repair experience with complex heating and cooling systems in healthcare and/or the industrial sector

    • Preferred Registration/License/Certification
      • Certification or degree which incorporates an understanding of programmable logic controls (PLC), chilled water systems, or boiler systems.

    • Other Requirements
      • Have an understanding of basic HVAC operation, i.e. boilers, chillers, pumps and fan systems.
      • Ability understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules and manufacturers operating and/or maintenance specifications as they relate to electrical mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and special equipment, building structures and finishes
      • Experienced of standard computer systems and applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and web- based applications.
      • Willingness to Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
